Over the next few years, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN) will develop the "Science Campus for Nature and Society".

At Invalidenstraße 42/43, a unique center of inter- and transdisciplinary research into the relationship between human societies and natural systems will be created, as well as a globally networked forum for exchange on issues of sustainable coexistence. Novel forms of cooperation, creative formats and innovative ideas are to open up a new quality for the systematic exchange between science and society. This opening up of research and education aims to develop scientific solutions for the global challenges on planet Earth.

The collaboration of the partners is focused on the issues of life sciences and sustainability research. New ways and formats in the fields of knowledge transfer, science communication and open science are developed and tested. In this way, not only an excellent but also an open science is to become reality.

The Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science is also located on the Science Campus.
